Direct answer
A care provider accepting an SSW1 worker must confirm that the workplace and duties meet the nursing-care field rules, verify the candidate's accepted skill and Japanese evidence, provide proper employment terms and create an SSW1 support plan. The provider may carry out support itself when qualified or entrust tasks to a registered support organization, but it must still oversee lawful employment and required filings.
Acceptance sequence
- Describe personal care and permitted related support duties in the job description.
- Check current workplace, staffing, field-body and document requirements.
- Compare remuneration with Japanese workers doing the same or similar work.
- Plan pre-entry guidance, arrival, housing, life orientation, language learning and consultation.
- Assign owners for residence applications, start-of-employment and periodic/change notifications.
The workplace plan should include understandable Japanese, care terminology, accident reporting, dignity and privacy, and criteria for shift or night work. Outsourcing support is a service arrangement, not a transfer of every employer duty. Use the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's learning and retention resources when building training.
FAQ
Can every support task be outsourced?
Eligible tasks may be entrusted under the rules, but the accepting organization must verify the contract and performance and retain its employer obligations.
May the worker be assigned unrelated duties?
The main activity must stay within the permitted nursing-care work and related support. Check current field guidance and the care visa page.
